 Shoes

I thought I would post the shoes that gave me the shakes Zentangling.  I think they turned out really nice and I hope my m.i.l. likes them.  My sister wants me to Zentangle her golf shoes….her Foot Joy golf shoes!  My goodness, I don’t how I am going to manage that one.  I did tell her, if I mess up and/or you don’t like them? It is on you and she still handed them over to me.  So we will see, so far I don’t even have the guts to pull them out of the bag.

 WIP

This is a WIP of a pet portrait that I have been working on for my nephew and his girl friend as a housewarming present.  I have been having trouble with this little guy, and so far there are a lot of redos.  I haven’t picked up a pencil in a while and I’m rusty, but I hope that I can give them something special.

 Haul

booksAlso, we went Dorm shopping with mini me last weekend.  And I found these awesome hard covered spiral bound sketch pads.  What’s so great about these pads, for me at least,  is that the paper is smooth. If you have a Ross, TJ Maxx or Burlington Outlet near you?  You’d better scoop these puppies up!

Prompt

This week, I am going to commit to a sketch in one of these little beauties and we will call this Sketch Crawl Out Of Bed, LOL

But what will I sketch? Hummmmm……. What. will.  I.  sketch?…I think I shall sketch a door knob.  Exciting choice huh?  (Yesterday,  I took the knob off the door to paint and as I type this, it is glaring at me from the console.)

Would you care to join me?

If you do, please comment in the post next week with a link to your sketch.  I would love to see it!

If you read my blog and don’t know how to draw, but always wanted to here is your chance.  You can only learn by doing.  I did not know how to draw until I started small sketching exercises.  So grab a some paper, a pencil and give it a go.

We will meet back here on Friday!

Micron and Graphite on Bond

Created by Erin at the Bright Owl

Hello!  As you can see,  I’m doing a little catch up since I haven’t been posting lately.  Everything is going good, but I reckon my muse went on hiatus. I can’t  find anything that I want to draw.  I have been doing a little colored pencil practice, but it isn’t really a show and tell type of thing.  It’s been fun though.

I have been reading a lot and enjoying quite a few happily ever afters on our new Kindle e-reader.   It’s a nifty little device that’s for sure.  I ordered it so Alana could read library books and not tie up our devices.  But come to find out she reads only when she is out of options in finding something enjoyable to do.  I guess I learn something new everyday, LOL ….that’s okay, more fun toys for meeeeeeee…..

Worth the Likes…

I have a designated studio/office space to house and to work on my hobbies. But usually I will paint in the kitchen, bead and Zentangle in the living room, draw on my bed and I’ll read anywhere!

Did you notice none of the places mentioned was the studio/office space?   In my defense, I paint in the kitchen because I need the water and Acrylic can be easily removed from the counter but a nightmare to remove from the hardwood floor or my desk.  Also,  the lighting is much better in the kitchen.  As for the rest, I have no good excuse except maybe I am just an odd duck.

So, depending on what I am working on, one room (if not all 3) is a mess!

One day  I came across OrganizedlikeJen.   In this video, she was talking about counter space (I think) and as an afterthought really, she starting talking about this bin that she kept on a stool in the bar area of her kitchen.  I thought it was such a good idea so I began to acclimate a bin to suit my needs and it has been perfect in keeping the hobby clutter to a minimum.  I can take this in any room and at arm’s reach.

In  lieu of the fact that I can not find her video, I am posting pictures of my take of the “office on the  go”  or would it be “hobbyist on the go?”

portable office

We are still working on the kitchen and at the moment we have no baseboards…Sorry….  Anyway, this is my portable hobbyist on the go.  It could stand be a little wider, but so far it is working well for me.

Normally, there would be a book in there and beading supplies.  But I am not beading at the moment and I am reading on my tablet. The planner would be housed in the kitchen, and will be after the remodel.

office contents

It holds all of the everyday stuff that I enjoy so much.  I can put my things away without actually having to put them away.

And if I wanted to,  I could put in my tablet and chargers, throw it in my back seat of my car to take on trips:)
